In Leviticus 6: God instructs His people that: "Fire shall be kept
burning upon the altar continually; it shall not go out." We have
learned that every aspect of the physical Sanctuary has its counterpart
in the inward sanctuary within the soul of the believer.
The two altars of the Sanctuary, the outer and the inner, manifest as
two aspects of the nature of the redeemed heart. The altar on which the
continual fire was to be set was the outer one. It signifies that the
fire of our love for God must be outward, open and revealed. His love
for the world was expressed openly. He is also revealed in secret in the
heart of the believer. John 14:18-20 I will not leave you
comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world shall
see me no more; but you shall see me: because I live, you shall live also.
At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and
I in you.
Jesus Christ has appeared and shall yet appear to be glorified in his
saints, and to be admired in all them that believe. (2 Thessalonians 1:10)
The Holy Spirit that dwells in us is preparing the dwelling that He has
ordained. It is the body of Christ. We are members of His body and we
are engaged in the process of preparation. For the whole body is
fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies,
according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, which
produces increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
(Ephesians 4:16) God desires to be glorified in His saints... in a Body
that is thoroughly joined and knit together, a Body that has come "unto
the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ". For us it
is a hope and an aspiration; for God it is His Will to reveal the substance
of His identity. By grace and the determined will of God we have become,
along with others, a dwelling and a voice for the Lord.
During the days when the Sanctuary was consecrated, it and its vessels
were being made ready. Moses and Aaron were present, and sacrifices were
being offered.
Leviticus 8:33-36 - And you shall not go out of the door of the
tabernacle of the congregation for seven days, until the days of your
consecration be at an end: for seven days shall he consecrate you. As
He has done this day, so the LORD has commanded to do, to make an atonement
for you. Therefore shall you abide at the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the LORD,
that you die not: for so I am commanded. So Aaron and his sons did all
things that the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses. Then, on the eighth
day, "Fire came forth from before God" and "the glory of
God appeared to all the people".
Leviticus 9:23-24 And Moses
and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out,
and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the
people. And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon
the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw,
they shouted, and fell on their faces.
The world is awaiting the manifestation of the sons of God because it
is here, in life, that the victory must be won and demonstrated. It is
here that His purpose will be worked out in the lives of His people. We
must, in reality and experience, walk out the revelations and truths that
have been revealed in us by His Word.
"If we live in the Spirit,
let us also walk in the Spirit" Galatians 5:25.
It is necessary
first to see and understand what God is doing. But, we must also walk
in what we have seen. Revelation must become reality. Our spiritual eyes
can see the promises, but our feet have to walk them out. His purpose
is a lamp unto our feet and we have been endowed with His Spirit that
we may provide light for others. Such is the nature of our ministry.
We are in a time of greater consecration. We are also in the hands of
the Potter.
We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory
of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even
as by the Spirit of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:49 As we have borne the image of the earthy,
we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 2 Corinthians 3:18 Yet
we are called upon to work out our own salvation and that, which we build,
is subject to change. Paul said: According to the grace of God which
is given unto me, as a wise master-builder, I have laid the foundation,
and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds
thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which
is Jesus Christ.
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones,
wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day
shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall
try every man's work of what sort it is. 1Corinthians 3:10-13
Because there is the work of man, there are things that cannot be lasting,
and we are seeing the works of man being judged. But on the eighth day
the Divine presence descended, and only then did it become permanent.
The seven days were a measure of earthly time. The eighth was the day
beyond human time, the number which signifies both new beginnings and
eternity. It was the day of the heavenly fire, the seal and response of
an infinite God. We are a people walking in the influence of the eighth
day.
God is our shield and our great reward. We seek a reward from God within
the natural world that goes beyond the natural order. We are those
who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and
immortality, and manifest eternal life. Romans 2:7 We seek to
reach the limits of our own capabilities that we may fully receive help
from God. In Jesus Christ we have joined ourselves to the timelessness
of God. He has made us each a Sanctuary to God; pure and holy, tried
and true. With thanksgiving well be a living, Sanctuary
unto You. We know that God desires a dwelling place on earth. Because
we see who God is we are assured that God is able to fulfill the promises
that He has given to us. He is able to do all that is needed. We understand
Gods intentions toward us that He intends to bless us.
God
has commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood,
we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies,
we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled,
we shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:10
