APPREHENDED UNTO HIM:

We have been prepared to move from faith to faith. We are the sum total of our experience, that is why change is possible. We have been able to build line upon line and precept upon precept sufficient to understand the power of the transformation that works in us by the Holy Spirit. We have been anointed to change because “God by His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue. We have been given exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these we may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2Peter 1:3-4 We have been promised freedom and deliverance because to them that believe all things have been made new.

“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought to you through the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance.” 1Peter 1:13-14. Peter is assuring us that it is possible to be free from the ideas that we previously held, or may still hold. The Word tells us that we do not have to fashion or form ourselves in the way that we did in the past. We will be able to say of our lives that we have not come this way before. We are being set free from our bonds and our grave clothes. Now that Jesus is appearing in a greater manner in our lives, and we are seeking His fullness there is a discernible change, and there is more to come as we pursue it and press towards the mark of the prize of His high calling in Jesus Christ. His life and His appearing have gained such value for us, that we have deeply considered what it was that we thought we needed or understood. This is even true regarding the way we first viewed our Christianity.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” “And you have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him”. (2 Corinthians 5:17-18; Colossians 3:10) We are being set free as we continue to behold the Lord in our spirit and understanding, and maintain our faith in the promises of God. One day, the Word and the reality of eternal life in Jesus Christ, becomes one’s undeniable need. We come to understand that we were called to put on immortality and defeat death. We were called to become sons of God in whom Christ would be revealed, sufficient to defeat the last enemy and save and transform our bodies. Because we seek to put on immortality, we are moving outside the natural order. It would cause the words of Jesus to be applicable today when He said: “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” Matthew 11:12 We are seeking something that appears to not be ours to obtain, but since we have the promises of God we continue to reach for it to lay hold.

When what the Word reveals and promises become your need, it brings with it the power to supersede all your other needs. Reaching for the mark of His high calling empowers you to supersede the spirit of the world and releases you from the bondage of your first-birth. You will apprehend the vision that enables you to lay down your life and put on Christ. It is something that we can do day by day as we walk out our salvation, as we find ourselves in Christ and as we see the willingness that God has to lead us by His Spirit. Oh, how He desires that we know and worship Him in Spirit and in truth. If we can live in the Spirit we can walk in the Spirit.

I enjoy my freedom in Jesus Christ and I believe that I speak for others. When I realized that I could be a partaker of His divine nature, I also recognized that through Jesus Christ I was escaping the corruption that is in the world through lust and I could pursue His manifestation. Prior to receiving Jesus as my Savior I had been chasing the fulfillment of various needs my whole life. They appeared as real needs related to real experiences, related to real people, and related to real emotions. They were related to joy and sadness and disappointment, and all the things that didn’t go right and all the things that I wished had been different. And if only I would have ...and so on. One day the message of transformation became the motivating influence in my life. I could say that the message of immortality became my need, and I was delivered from previous needs. That is where the healing was. When Christ and His appearing becomes your need, your life is revealed in the message; the Word defines your life, and that vision supersedes all other needs, breaking their power. Certainly, “Whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” Matthew 16:25 When the message continues to define your true needs, all the others become less insistent. We have found healing.

True faith comes from hearing the Word of God. Then, when you read or hear or speak the Word of God, a certain persuasion emerges from within you. When you accept that within yourself, and understand that it is coming from God... faith is produced. You see through the eyes of God. He has called us to put on Christ. God has called us to put on immortality. He has called us to show forth the Glory residing in Himself. As you look you will see that you have already moved into a new place in Him. You will find that you are not being conformed to this world, but are being transformed by the renewing of your mind, and you are demonstrating what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2
