2 Corinthians 3:18 "
We all, with open face beholding as in a mirror
the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory...
even as by the Spirit of the Lord." What is wondrous is that God
has chosen to reveal His nature in a manner that elicits our response. We
are continually called to Him by His very nature and the promise held out
to us that that which we see in Him might become the substance of our life.
The revelation of His nature brings us into a relationship with God who
is a person. The revelation of Jesus Christ stirs in us the desire to take
off the old man and put on Christ. Seeing Him by the Spirit causes us to
mix faith with the life that has been revealed -and we give His life expression.
The just shall live by faith because that faith gives substance and manifestation
to the promises of God.
As we express Him by the Spirit our lives reveal the intent of God that
brought into being every created thing. We show that the world does not
exist for itself, but to become part of God's dwelling. It is His world,
coming into existence from the truth of His Being with the intent that it
reflect that Truth. There are no limits to God's power and He can manifest
Himself in a material as well as a spiritual existence. He is the Lord of
Heaven and earth. God has given us His Spirit. We are able to give Him expression.
In some ways it is like living in a state of continual repentance because
we are always turning to God - yet it a turning which exists for itself
even without sin. Our bond and union with the Lord remains our primary concern.
God has the power of choice; this quality reflects His nature. He invested
this quality in the creation by imparting choice to man, allowing us to
know Him and manifest His nature in the world through choice.
In the beginning
God said: Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them
have dominion. (Genesis 1:26)
God intended for us to have authority over the things that He had created,
consistent with His Will. We are living in the day that we believe God is
setting up His kingdom to be seen on earth. The kingdom that God has promised
is an eternal kingdom, with Christ as King. God has dealt to each of us
the measure of faith so that we might participate in manifesting the world
to come.
The world was created for the Lord Jesus Christ, to create a habitation
where God's desire for a dwelling in the world will be realized. There is
not any question that this purpose and this desire will be consummated.
God has entrusted the fulfillment of His desire to His work in man, enabling
us to become partners in creation.
There is nothing more liberating and empowering than the awareness of your
potential based on the promises of God. When a person appreciates that they
have received the Spirit of God for God's purpose and knows that, at all
times, that they have in Christ, the potential to express this truth, confidence
arises and increases.
As we more fully appreciate the purpose of our existence, we actively seek
our role in this endeavor and seek to influence others to join us.
Deuteronomy 6:4, "The LORD our God is one LORD." What is unique
in the description of God as One is that this world that appears to exist
in its own right, as a separate and distinct entity, is one with Him. He
alone exists independent of time. The world does not exist on its own. Were
God not to bring it into being, its existence would utterly cease. God has
granted us salvation in Jesus Christ and has joined us to Christ by the
Spirit so that we are able to express His Godly intent. Even though His
will maintains all existence, He is concealed and the world exists in its
present form. He is revealing Himself to us by the Spirit.
"For we
are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God
hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)
Mark 4:22, "But there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested;
neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad."
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not unto your own
understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your
paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
We enjoy the opportunity to reveal
God in
this world. Our Divine service, expressing the Spirit of Jesus Christ that
is within us requires diligent labor. Do not remove your hand from the plow.
Our endeavors will come to fruition in an era of which we see the dawning.
A time of redemption when,
"He will be one and His name one." (Zechariah 14:9) "The
world will be filled with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the ocean
bed." (Isaiah 11:9)
As we lead our lives in this manner, expressing the Lordship of God in our
conduct, we prepare the world for the era when this awareness will spread
throughout all creation. We are counted with those that love the appearing
of Christ and the manifestation of the Sons of God.
