In a time of prayer, while in the house of the Lord recently, I was given a
vision
of the fire of God in the depth of my belly. As I sought the Lord for clarity
of
the meaning of this occurrence, I was taken up in the Word concerning the
prophet
Elijah. In first Kings Chapter 18 God spoke some specifics about this prophet
and
his encounter with the prophets of Baal. In this chapter, the element of fire
was
present. That which took place is set forth to give us insight into what is
present
truth for us as reality is breaking forth to lend us strength to apprehend,
that
which has apprehended us.
In first kings chapter 18 there was a question raised.1Kings 18:21 And
Elijah came
unto all the people, and said, "How long halt you between two opinions?" The
presence of the fire of God is raising itself to cause a cessation of the
divided
state of mind that has caused us not to be fully equipped as the saviors
spoken
of in the book of Obadiah. Webster's definition of the word opinion is "a
thought
or idea not based on precise knowledge." God is the omniscient God. He alone
is
precise knowledge. We are called to see Him more clearly as this.
The element of fire has several components. It is heat for purification and it
gives us light. We are told that our God is a consuming fire. As the fire of
His
presence brings purification, it also causes consummation or a fusion into
oneness. It is God's intent, according to Eph. 1:17-19 that the eyes of
our
understanding be enlightened with purpose: Eph. 1:17 That the God of our
Lord
Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and
revelation in the knowledge of Him. Verse.18 The eyes of your understanding
being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what
is the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.
Verse 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who
believe,
according to the working of His mighty power, (the power of resurrection) What
God addressed natural Israel with then is also what He is addressing us as
the
spiritual Israel of God. "What is in our minds and hearts that is not "a
profit"
to us h the advancement of the kingdom of heaven in our lives?" The fire of
God
is set to try what is at work in us. He is separating the precious from the
vile,
eradicating the lie so that truth can and will prevail.
I Cor. 3:11-14 for other foundation can no man lay than that is laid,
which is
Jesus Christ. Verse 12 Now, if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver,
precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; vs. 13 Every man's work shall be made
manifest: for "the day" (of the Lord) shall declare it, because it shall be
revealed by fire : the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. vs.
14 If any man's work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a
reward. Elijah, whose name means "God of Jehovah," was set in place to proclaim
the name of the Lord. He made a plain declaration: 'the God that answers by
fire let Him be God." In verses 29-37, the people were instructed to
"come
near.
" God says if we draw nigh to Him, He would draw nigh to us. Then the altar of
the Lord was repaired that was broken.
Many things have separated us from following on to know the Lord. Yet in this
hour, nothing shall separate us from the love of the God of promise. It is the
revelation of that love which heals us. We may come boldly to Him who is the
throne of grace. There is an altering of our state of consciousness to put on
the mind of the Lord no longer allowing or giving place to no other thoughts
but His. This is casting down of imaginations whereby we may receive the crown
and the sealing in our forehead of a mind being engraved as holiness to the
Lord.
In verse 38, there are several things mentioned which must be consumed
by the
fire of Gad. These are the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and
the dust, and all the waters of watered down gospels that have imprisoned His
life within us. This verse says," the fire of God fell..." I heard in this as
the "felling" of a tree. We know this to be all those things stemmed from the
knowledge of good and evil. The ax must be laid at the root of this tree. As
God comes to us in our individual lives, Hs will plainly show by the light of
His presence what these things represent. It is not for condemnation but
conviction to usher us into greater glory.
In addition, we must correctly respond as the people of God did then, to fall
on our faces in humble submission, adoration, and in realization proclaiming,
"The Lord is the God; the Lord, He is the God." It was spoken twice, a double
witness of agreement between our heaven and earth; between our soul and His
Spirit. In verse 40 Elijah slay all the prophets of Baal letting none escape.
Our aspirations must be as God shines the light of His fire upon the things in
our lives that do not profit His movement in us; we must be willing to allow
the truth of the Word to slay them. It causes the need for being in a state of
willing repentance from dead works to serve the Living God.
That number of the verse is significant. The number forty has to do with
degeneration and generation. It signifies an end of one thing to begin another.
In the forty-first verse is the key to making the exchange. The cessation of
the purification allows the abundance of the rains of revelation to come. For
us the rains of the water of the Word will fill up the void that the fire
created. The belly becomes more progressively filled with the rivers of living
water flowing to heal the nations. These rivers flowing raise the ark of the
covenant of God to the highest mountain, Zion, the mindset of Christ. Be
blessed beloved family and strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner
man.
