2 Corinthians 6:18 "1 will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons
and daughters, says the LORD Almighty." "And because you are sons, God has sent
forth the Spirit of His
Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" Galatians 4:6-7 "As
many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." Romans 8:14-15
God calls us sons because He enjoys the reality of having begotten us in
Jesus Christ. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
according to His great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, unto an inheritance incorruptible,
and undefiled, that fades not away." 1 Peter 1:3-5 We continually draw
from that reality. Our Sonship relates to our whole life as believers. Our
Sonship is established in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. "We were buried
with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the
dead by the glory of the Father, Even so we also should walk in newness of
life." Romans 6:3-4 We seek to live as people who have been resurrected.
Our relationship with Jesus Christ God continually confirms our Sonship. It is
God's intent is that our Sonship be continually manifested. The resurrection is
the seal of our Sonship. "God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love
with which He loved us, ... made us alive together with Christ ... and raised
us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ
Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace
in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus ... For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we
should walk in them." Ephesians 2:4-10
We have received the earnest of the resurrection. Because the Spirit of Him
that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised up Christ from
the dead is quickening your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you. The
resurrection is nigh thee, even in your mouth, and in your heart and in your
actions. We manifest the resurrection when we preach by faith, walk by faith
and live by faith Jesus was declared to be the Son of God with power, according
to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. Romans 1:4
The power of the resurrection manifesting within us will also attest to our
Sonship. "As we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the
image of the heavenly." 1 Corinthians 15:49 God wants to overcome within
us the nature of the world, and transform us through the power of the
resurrection so that we will be governed by the nature of Jesus Christ. The
challenges of life are intended to provide a means for His divine nature and
the power of His resurrection to manifest.
Ephesians 2:6: "God has raised us up together, and made us sit together in
heavenly places in Christ Jesus." We are aware that He is the resurrection and
the life and we are seated with Him in a manner that must be constantly
revealed. The Lord wants to make the power of His resurrection, a reality
working in us. The power of His resurrection is about all things being put in
subjection under the feet of the believer - His sons. "For in that he intended
to put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him -
His body. But now we see not yet all things put under him. But we see Jesus,
who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned
with glory and honor; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every
man. Hebrews 2:8-9 The power that God desires for us to experience is
that of being a co-worker with Christ - and laborers together with God. He
wants us to manifest His complete authority over the works of darkness and
enjoy with Him the Creation.
The power of His resurrection causes our lives to become a living word because
He lives we shall live also in the power of His divine nature and all that
pertains to Him. We are meant to take off the old man and experience, a living
word. Because He lives we shall live also in the manifest reality of the Son of
God in His glory. The word is an actuality - a way that we experience Him and
His relationship to the Father. One can live by it. By it, you can live and
move and have your being. "For the word of God is alive, and powerful, and
sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul
and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts
and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12 We will be His ministers moving
as a flame of fire. From the very beginning God revealed Himself as the great
Divider-Dividing between light and darkness, day and night, clean and unclean.
He is still continually dividing-going to the depths of what we are (the Spirit
interceding for us) in order to prepare for Himself, a people who will be able
to totally follow Him.
Galatians 2:20: "We have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer we
who live, but Christ lives in us; and the life which we now live in the body we
live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself for us. We
believe that we can become overcomers because we see that the power of Christ's
death and resurrection is capable of overcoming the fallen nature in us. We
believe that we can know Him and the power of His resurrection. We press
towards the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
It is God's intention that His Son would be the firstborn, the forerunner of
many sons who would be formed after the image of God Himself. We who are made
partakers of this life shall also be made to share in the image of His Son.
We see in the man Jesus all that God intends to reproduce in the church. It is
through the Holy Spirit and the power of His resurrection that we express what
Christ is -- becoming the embodiment of His nature. We are what is seen of Him
who is invisible. We believe that we have precious promises and that we are His
workmanship. The Lord has increased our determination. We run to obtain the
prize of His high calling.
