Deuteronomy 6:4 The Lord our God is one Lord. Among many things,
it means that although this world appears to exist on its own, as a separate
and distinct entity it I exist because of Him, by Him and for Him. We are
meant to live out this truth. He alone exists independent of time and creation.
He brought all creation into being from absolute nothingness. This view
of God's oneness enables us to see that the creation, as it exists within
its own framework, is the expression of His intent. Even though His will
maintains all existence, He conceals Himself so that the world can exist
in its present form - but its form has changed and is changing. It is for
such a time as this that we have been called and anointed.
We reveal that the world does not exist for itself, but to become a dwelling
place for God. God has always been revealing His intention through His people.
Hebrews 11:1-3 declares that faith and hope have always been the revelation
and experience of things not seen. God shows His intent through a people
who are moved by His will. As a result, those that grasped it at all, demonstrated
God's intent and obtained a good report. We with them - through faith -
understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things
that are seen were not made of things that already existed.
Isaiah 43:10-13 "You are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servants
whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe me, and understand that
I am He: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after
me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no Savior. I have declared,
and have saved, and I have shown, when there was no strange god among you:
therefore you are my witnesses, that I am God: saith the LORD. Yea, before
the day was I am He; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand:
I will work, and who shall turn or stop it?"
From Hebrews 11:4-13 we can draw the following: Seeing that God alone truly
existed and had established the creation, Abel offered unto God a more excellent
sacrifice than Cain. Seeing that God alone had life, Enoch believed and
walked with God and was translated that he should not see death; he had
this testimony, that he pleased God. By faith Noah, being warned of God
of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving
of his house, by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the
righteousness which is by faith. Noah's work declared that God alone rules.
He that is, rightfully judges the earth and all that He created. By faith
Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place that he should after
receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither
he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country,
dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the
same promise: For he looked for a city that has foundations, whose builder
and maker is God. Abraham knew that he dwelt before God, in God's World.
Though God was hidden to the world at large,
God had revealed Himself to
Abraham and would reveal Himself further. God was his shield and great
reward. Through faith, Sara herself received strength to conceive seed,
and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged
him faithful who had promised. Therefore sprang there even of one, and
him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and
as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. These all died in faith,
not having received the fullness of the promises, but having seen them
afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed
that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. They confessed that
they were strangers and pilgrims because they saw that God was not revealed
in the world in the manner that He intends. If God did not have a home
they could not declare that they had a home. We desire to be His intended
dwelling in this world. Our endeavors will come to fruition in a time of
redemption when, as Zechariah prophesied 14:9 "He will be one and
His name one." Not only will we intellectually appreciate His oneness,
the perception of it will permeate all existence. "The world will
be filled with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the ocean bed."
(Isaiah 11:9)
Mark 4:22-25 "For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested;
neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. If
any man has ears to hear, let him hear. And Jesus said unto them, Take
heed what you hear: with what measure you measure, it shall be measured
to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. For he that has, to
him shall be given: and he that has not, from him shall be taken even
that which he has."
The value that you ascribe to that which you
hear will be the value that it has for you. If you have heard correct
teaching you will grow in knowledge and experience. If you cannot discern
properly that which was once solid and a sure foundation will become weakened.
"The word is very near to you, in your mouth and in your heart, that
you may do it." (Deuteronomy 30:14) The word of God, which we have
received and also study, is fulfilled through three forms of expression.
Thought ("in your heart"), speech ("in your mouth")
and action ("that you may do if). Your life has to be engaged. By
the Spirit, with the power of thought we can comprehend all that which
is promised by the word of God. With the power of speech we are able to
declare the works of God and bring forth the truth of the Gospel, the
finished work of Jesus Christ. We can form for God a dwelling place on
earth and give physical expression to the reality of Christ who dwells
in us. We believe that it is possible, "Not to be conformed to this
world: but transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may prove
what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2
We are capable of bearing the image of the heavenly
