1 John 1:7: "If we walk
in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin."
We have received the greatest gift, the one that all mankind seeks. We
know that we can be free from the power of darkness and enabled to walk
in the light of God's purpose. We have come to know the joyful sound of
His leading and walk in the light of His countenance. In His name we shall
rejoice all the day: and in His righteousness shall we be exalted. He
is the glory of our strength: and through His goodness our honor shall
be exalted.' Psalm 89:15-17 The encouragement that we have received
convinces us that transformation is possible. We believe we can put on
new life by the renewing our mind.
The renewing of the mind is
both divine vision and choice. We believe that what we have seen and understood
can be given expression in our daily lives. There is a transformation
that we pursue that satisfies our desire for healing and deliverance.
That which we seek is also the world's desire, they are waiting for the
manifestation of the sons of God. We seek it first for ourselves, because
it is the foundation of our relationship with Jesus Christ. We desire,
as servants of God, to share it with others. We humble ourselves before
the mighty hand of God, and we remain humble so that we may benefit and
serve others. We enjoy being moved by the Spirit.
We have allowed the Word of
God and the Spirit to define for us the meaning of life. God has visited
each of us to reveal that Jesus Christ is the answer. His presence brings
comfort and relief and He calls us to pursue the high calling established
in Him.
We have been joined to Christ that He might have a Bride and a Body. "For
we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones." Ephesians
5:30 John said: "That which we have seen and heard declare we unto
you, that you also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship
is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write
we unto you, that your joy may be full." 1 John 1:3-4
John came to a place of undeniable truth that enabled him to see the very
desire of God. He saw it in the man Jesus Christ and he saw it at work
in Himself. He knew that we share this calling with him. John is declaring
that we can live with a certainty comparable to his, and be able to manifest
the life of God, as they were able to do. John says that he can speak
because he knows. He knows that we have what God wanted us to have, His
life manifesting in us. John knows that this is what Jesus prayed for
and he has told us. "That they all may be one, as You, Father, are
in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may
believe that You sent Me. And the glory that You gave Me I have given
them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me;
that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that
You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. Father, I
desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that
they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before
the foundation of the world." John 17:21-24
Previously it was not possible
to see the depth of God's intention, for neither Moses nor the prophets
provided the full instruction concerning communion with God that Jesus
Christ has given us. "This then is the message that we have heard
of Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness
at all." We can walk in the light and have fellowship with Him. God
is absolutely perfect. John wants us to see that perfection and experience
fellowship with him, John, and with the Father and the Son. "That
which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen
with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled,
of the Word of life." 1 John 1:1 "Our hands have handled"
states an intimacy. But more than the fact that he worked side by side
with the Lord and touched Him after the resurrection, John was able to
handle and experience the inner life of the man Jesus Christ. John invites
us to handle Jesus' life.
1 John 1:7 "But if we
walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with
another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin."
John comes back to what he saw in Jesus. He knows that the Spirit working
in him is the Lord. He calls us to a deeper experience through the words
of Jesus. "When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide
you into all truth. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine
and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore
I said that He will take of Mine and reveal it to you.
